Ronald Fetters is a current student in the Adult Education program. He is enrolled
in Adult Education through a partnership with the Western Maryland Consortium's Career Pathways, a WIOA
funded program. Ron is working towards earning his Maryland high school diploma through
the GED tests. Ron works diligently with a tutor provided by Literacy Support services
of the adult education program. Ron is also enrolled in the Welding program, a continuing
education workforce development program.
Adult Education has an active partnership with the Western Maryland Consortium and
the Department of Social Services to provide work readiness skills to individuals
receiving TANF-Temporary Aid for Needy Families and anyone seeking services from the
Western MD Consortium and adult ed. Adult Ed maintains a classroom at the DSS site
where clients attend classes two (2) days a week. These classes prepare individuals
for the challenges of filling a skills gap in the workforce-whether that is earning
a Maryland high school diploma or a nationally recognized work readiness certificate
through the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). The partnership with the
Western Maryland Consortium is part of the EMPOWER grant, providing a seamless transition
from work readiness to job placement and/or training.
He attends each class with a smile and is always prepared to learn. Ron doesn't give
up, quit, or become frustrated. Ron's passion for success is contagious. He loves
to help and encourages others to do their best. Ron is a great friend to others and
always knows how to make others smile.
