Student Orientation

Orientation 2020-2021

It is VERY IMPORTANT, as a new student at Allegany College of Maryland, that you attend a New Student Orientation Session!  You will learn about the many services that are available to you as a student, how to get involved and succeed academically, safety policies/services, and you'll also have opportunities to engage with College staff, faculty and other students (this will look a little different due to COVID-19). Please see below for details.

To schedule your Placement Test (if you haven't already)
Contact the Student Success Center at 301-784-5551. After you have finished with your Placement Test, you can stop by the Advising Center to schedule your classes!

When is Orientation?

Cumberland Campus - Due to COVID-19, all Fall Orientation sessions for the Cumberland campus will be held online. The session can be completed alone (an email with more information will be sent to students via their ACM email in August) or students can register below to attend an online Orientation session that will be held with other new ACM students via Zoom.

Bedford Campus - Due to COVID-19 if Bedford County is in the Green Phase, there will be 3 Orientation session times offered. Due to restrictions by the state of Pennsylvania, sessions are limited to a total of 25 people (this includes presenter(s) and guests). You MUST register in advance to attend one of these sessions.

To reserve your space in a Bedford County Campus session after 3 pm on Monday, August 17th, you MUST call the Bedford County Campus at 814-652-9528 extension 6204.

Please DO NOT show up to an Orientation session without a registration.

Should Bedford County move to the Yellow or Red Phase, information will be emailed to students who registered for sessions to provide information about what they should do.
