Q & A
What do you enjoy most about your position at ACM? What I enjoy most about teaching for ACM online is interacting with the students and
watching them grow as they grasp the content that is presented in class. Further,
as I have been afforded the opportunity to teach both high school sophomores and college
freshmen and sophomores, I really enjoy the uniqueness of both groups. I try and identify
their learning styles so I can customize my teaching style, thus creating a win/win
for all.
What is your vision for the future of ACM? When I think about my vision for the future of ACM, a single entity immediately comes
to my mind and that is online education. I believe ACM has a solid foundation that
is tried and true in online education and look for ACM to continue to be at the forefront
of delivering excellent online education to students.
Who mentored you in your career at ACM? It is very hard to choose a specific mentor, as so many people have helped me in my
path at ACM. However, I would be remiss if I did not mention Jim House and Dick Soderman
who have been tremendous positive forces behind my adjunct faculty development. Further,
I want to give a shout-out to Barb Zuchelli, Tiffany Boone, and Marsha Clauson who
have been fantastic to work with as well!
What advice would you give to a prospective student interested in enrolling at ACM? The advice that I would give to a prospective student would be to do your homework
and further examine the 28 different degree programs ACM has to offer. Talk to as
many people as you can asking them why they chose the profession they are in and what
avenue they took to accomplish their goals. It is ok to have an undeclared major going
into college, but students, at the very least should have a few choice majors that
pique their interest to consider. The bonus for attending ACM is the cost reduction!
ACM provides a low-cost, high-quality education that is designed to prepare students
well for their future choices!
