Q & A
  • What do you enjoy most about your position at ACM?
The people. The students, faculty and staff. ACM has been my home away from home since beginning my career in 1978. The family atmosphere that so many of us feel here makes it enjoyable to come to work every day.
  • What is your vision for the future of ACM?
My vision of the future of the College is bright. I see us moving in the right direction every day to serve the students and the community with an updated and beautiful campus.
  • Who mentored you in your career at ACM?
Over the years there have been so many mentors for me. Beginning with my parents, who encouraged me to come to ACC after graduating from high school, others at the College would be Margaret Zembower, Janet Shrout, Mona Clites, and Don Alexander. They taught me to work hard and be respectful, and to listen to people because if it wasn’t for our students, and great staff, there would be no ACM.

  • What advice would you give to a prospective student interested in enrolling at ACM?
I would encourage them to come out and give us the opportunity to give them the best education and personal assistance any College could offer. Success comes from dedication and hard work. Anyone can be successful if just given the opportunity.

  • Did you take classes at ACM?  If so, how did it prepare you for your career?
I graduated from Allegany College (Allegany Community College) in May of 1978. My career began in June of 1978 at ACC. I began in the Business Office for one year and then moved to Financial Aid for 12 years. In the early 90’s I started working in Administrative Services. From there I was given the opportunity to start using my talent for design. Over the years I have been involved with many renovations. This is what I still do today, but I’m much better at it thanks to the opportunity the College has given me and my experience of 41 years.
  • Additional Comments:
I love ACM and everyone here. There is no other place that I would have wanted to begin my career and end my career with.
