Applications for graduation at highest level in five years
CUMBERLAND, Md. – May 7, 2025 – Expect larger crowds at Allegany College of Maryland’s
(ACM) two graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 17. This spring 376 students are
expected to earn 442 degrees and certificates.
The two ceremonies take place within the Physical Education Building’s gymnasium. The ceremony for career and transfer program (non-Allied Health) students is at 11 a.m., and the ceremony for Allied Health students is at 2 p.m. After each ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to the College Center for light refreshments and photographs.
Graduation speakers selected
Three high-achieving students were chosen to deliver the student commencement remarks:
Josie Shuke, Moise “Moses” Tefy and Justice Warner. Tefy and Warner will speak at
the morning commencement ceremony with Shuke speaking at the afternoon ceremony.

Parking is available near the Physical Education and Humanities Buildings. Overflow
parking is available near the Continuing Education Building. ACM’s campus map is available
