An ACM student, Ariaya, reviews the ACM Scholarships Catalog.
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Nov. 4, 2024— Allegany College of Maryland encourages students who plan to attend ACM next year to apply now for ACM Scholarships. The College’s 2025-26 scholarship application is available online.
ACM proudly awards $1.5 million in scholarships annually, and thousands of scholarship awards are made each year.
Applying for merit and need-based scholarships is simple.
Students who complete ACM’s online scholarship application are automatically matched with general scholarships. Applicants can access an Opportunities tab within the application to apply for individual scholarship awards.
To help more students, the Allegany College of Maryland Foundation limits the number of Foundation scholarships awarded to each student in an academic year to three or a total value of $2,500. Scholarship recipients are notified of their awards by mail and must sign a scholarship acceptance form.
The College recommends that every student apply for merit and needs-based scholarships, regardless of their prior grades. College can be a turning point for students whose prior grades may not reflect their potential. Donors to the ACM Foundation understand this, and most scholarships require a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
Allegany County Opportunity Tuition Subsidies program requires the application.
ACM is honored to distribute the Allegany County Opportunity Tuition Subsidy for Credit Students program to County residents. The generous subsidy covers up to 50% of the in-county tuition rate per credit hour. To apply, students must meet all eligibility requirements and complete the ACM Foundation Scholarships application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2025-26 FAFSA is available starting December 1. The priority deadline date for the Tuition Subsidy Scholarship is February 28.
Allegany County Opportunity Merit Scholarship Award recognizes academic success.
Allegany County Opportunity Merit Scholarships of $1,000 or more are awarded each academic year to eligible County residents. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and meet all other eligibility criteria. Special consideration is given to students who intend to transfer to Frostburg State University after graduating from Allegany College of Maryland.
