It's time to bundle up and prepare to register for spring classes.

CUMBERLAND, Md. (Oct. 30, 2023)—New students may register for spring courses at Allegany College of Maryland beginning November 6. The spring schedule of courses is available online at https://allegany-ss.colleague.elluciancloud.com/Student/Courses.

Full-term courses (15 weeks) begin on January 16. Delayed start courses (12 weeks) start on February 6. New students are encouraged to take the following actions:

  • Meet with an academic advisor prior to registration. Visit allegany.edu/advising-center or call 301-784-5198.
  • Download the Navigate app by searching for “Navigate Student” in their app or play store.
  • Follow ACM or FAFSA’s social media for the release of the 2024-25 FAFSA in December.
  • Apply for college foundation scholarships.

The FAFSA is available in December, not October.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA for the 2024-25 academic year is delayed until December. The exact launch date in December is still unknown. Please follow FAFSA on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube) for more information.
The college will share updates on its social media channels. A list of channels is available at allegany.edu/social-media.

ACM's Student Financial Aid Office is available to help students and their families prepare their FAFSAs or offer advice about the process and changes to the form. Email studentfinancialaid@allegany.edu or call 301-784-5213

November is National Scholarship Month.
Allegany College of Maryland encourages incoming and current students to apply for merit and criteria-based scholarships for the upcoming academic year.

  • The college is already accepting online scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. Information is available at allegany.edu/scholarships.
  • Reading and Writing Center (RAWC) staff, located in Learning Commons, offer one-on-one assistance for anyone needing help with their ACM scholarship application essay.
College is frequently a turning point for students whose prior grades may not reflect their potential. Donors to the college's foundations understand this, and most scholarships require a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
