CMA to Nursing

 

 

Applicants for the CMA to Nursing Pathway is for currently certified medical assistant CMA (AAMA).  The applicant must hold a current CMA (AAMA) certification to be considered.

This program is part of on-campus nursing.

Step 1: APPLICATION
  • Apply to Allegany College of Maryland with Nursing listed as your intended major, if not already attending.
Step 2: OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
  • If attending another college, have official transcripts sent from your transfer school to the Admissions and Registration office at ACM.
Step 3: PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT EXAM and REQUIRED COURSE
  • Schedule to take Allegany College of Maryland Placement Assessment Exam if you do not have college level English or High School GPA greater than 3.0
  • Schedule Allegany college of Maryland Placement Assessment Exam if you do not have a Bio 100 level credit or schedule a Bio 100 level 4 credit course.
  • All nursing students must take Biological Science 207 (Anatomy and Physiology). Biology 207 is a pre-requisite of NURS 120.
Step 4: NURSING PROGRAM
Step 5: TEAS Test

Applications due by February 28th for potential admission for the fall semester and September 30th for potential admission for the spring semester.
