CUMBERLAND, Md. (Sept. 19, 2024) — James “Snake” Robertson believed in fostering opportunities for youth. Near to his heart were the students attending the Allegany County Public Schools (ACPS) Center for Career and Technical Education (CCTE), where he served as a member of their Building Trades Program Advisory Council, Mock Interview Committee, and the Local Advisory Council for ACPS and Allegany College of Maryland (ACM). This summer the James "Snake" Robertson CCTE to ACM Workforce Scholarship was established to honor Robertson’s lifelong commitment to education and opportunity.
Robertson CCTE to ACM Workforce Scholarships will be awarded to CCTE graduates who plan to continue their career and technical education at ACM.
Donations to the James “Snake” Robertson CCTE to ACM Workforce Scholarship can be made online to the Allegany College of Maryland Foundation. Donations are matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 by an ACM Foundation donor with ties to the Cumberland community.
