CUMBERLAND, Md. (Feb. 9, 2024)– Allegany College of Maryland (ACM) dental hygiene students gave 35 local children free dental checkups, x-rays, cleanings and oral
health education on Thursday, February 1. Twenty-seven of the children were younger
than 13, including Jhaloni Brown whose Barbie® also wanted a teeth cleaning from Lydia Cross, a dental hygiene student from Bel Air.
The all-day Give a Kid A Smile® clinic was supported by the Maryland State Dental Association Charitable & Educational Foundation and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation. Give a Kid a Smile® events are an initiative of the American Dental Association Foundation.
