New Student Checklist

STEPS THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN BEFORE STARTING CLASSES AT ACM:

checkbox graphic     Submit an Admissions Application

checkbox graphic     Send an official copy of your high school transcript if you plan to request financial aid. Submit all official copies of college transcripts you have and any SAT/ACT scores if taken.

checkbox graphic     Retrieve your Username and Password from your welcome email. This information is needed to log into various ACM systems including student Email, Self-Service, and Brightspace.

checkbox graphic     Schedule to take a campus tour and/or attend an open house.

checkbox graphic     Contact the Learning Commons Testing Services to set up a time to take the placement assessment.

*The following would Except you from taking the placement test:

  • SAT scores of 480 in the English section and a 530 on the math section
  • ACT scores of at least 21 on each section
  • High school GPA of a 3.0 or higher (graduation date must be within 5 years)

checkbox graphic     Review the ACM Foundation Scholarship Catalog and apply for scholarships online.
*First deadline date is January 31st for the following fall and spring semesters.

checkbox graphic     Complete the FAFSA.   ACM's FAFSA code is 002057
Available beginning October 1st. A priority date of March 1st is recommended but not required; the FAFSA should be completed as early as possible.

checkbox graphic      Complete the application for on-campus housing (Willowbrook Woods)
*If interested in living on the Cumberland Campus. Early application deadline date is April 30th

checkbox graphic     Meet with an Academic Advisor to schedule courses. Contact the Advising Center at 301-784-5198 or by email.

checkbox graphic     Pay your bill in full or Set up a Payment Plan for any tuition and fees not covered by financial aid by the posted due date.

checkbox graphic     Attend a New Student Orientation.

checkbox graphic     Buy textbooks and supplies.  Visit the ACM Campus Store or order online.
