MLTs at work in the Nurse Managed Wellness Clinic

The Nurse Managed Wellness Clinic (NMWC) supports health and wellness through education with the goal that all individuals become informed self-directed consumers of health care. We offer services  provided by a team of healthcare professionals and managed by a Certified Nurse Practitioner.

The NMWC, located in ACM's Allied Health Building, presents innovative multidisciplinary clinical experiences for students in nursing and other allied health professions with a focus on community health and wellness. Allied health students from different fields work together in supervised clinical rotations to further prepare them for a health-care environment that emphasizes disease prevention, patient education, and promotion of behaviors for healthier living.

As part of the MLT student’s clinical training, time is allotted for interprofessional experience.  The MLT students perform supervised point of care testing as part of the clinic’s Health and Wellness Screenings including:  cholesterol, diabetes and anemia screens.
