On-line tutoring is available for all ACM credit students, including those students enrolled in online courses. Learning Commons has collaborated with ThinkingStorm to create an online tutoring service designed for ACM students’ needs. Students can go to http://www.thinkingstorm.com/acm for assistance in the following subjects: mathematics (basic through introductory calculus), biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, writing (24 hour return on any writing assignment), and environmental science (listed under science). Appointments are required for accounting, anatomy & physiology, microbiology, economics, design software, nursing tutoring, nutrition (listed under Nursing & Health Care) and medical terminology (listed under Pre-Med). Assistance is available seven days a week from 10 am – 4 am (the next day) and most courses have assistance available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Access to ThinkingStorm begins on the first day of each semester. If students register late, they will have access the next Friday after the registration date. To log in to the service, students enter their username which is their legal first name (no nicknames!) and last name followed by birthdate (MMDDYY) for example JohnDoe010588. The password is always acmonlinetutor.
