Admissions for Homeschooled Students

Applying to ACM is easy. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Submit Your Application: 

Complete our online application form. If you have any questions, our admissions representatives are here to help. Find the application at www.allegany.edu/admissions/application

2. Provide Transcripts: 

Submit your homeschool transcripts. Ensure your transcripts include:

  • All courses completed
  • The number of credits, units, or hours associated with each course
  • Grades earned (a letter or numerical grade)
  • Preliminary (9th-11th grades) transcripts can be used for an admission decision.
  • Final transcripts must include a graduation date.

3. Placement Tests:

Placement tests may be waived under certain circumstances. Check out www.allegany.edu/placement-test for more details.

4. Financial Aid and Scholarships: 

Homeschooled students are eligible for financial aid and scholarships. Explore our options to help fund your education.


Financial Aid and Scholarships

What is Financial Aid?

It’s money to help you pay for college expenses from federal and state governments and institutional and private sources. It includes the following: 

  • Federal and state grants - aid that you don't repay, requires eligibility
  • Scholarships - aid that you don't repay, requires eligibility
  • Work-study jobs - aid in exchange for your work at ACM, requires eligibility
  • Loans - loans that you repay when you graduate or no longer meet eligibility

How do I receive financial aid?

  1. Apply for Admission
  2. Complete your FAFSA - The FAFSA or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form that you complete each year to apply for financial aid while you attend ACM. Check it out at www.fafsa.gov.  

Scholarships

We help students achieve their educational goals by offering approximately 2,500 scholarships with a total value over $1.5 million annually.

Campus Safety

Your well-being is paramount at ACM. Our campus safety measures include:

  • 24/7 Security Patrols: Our campus is patrolled around the clock to ensure a safe environment.
  • Emergency Procedures: We have established protocols for various emergencies, including eSAFE, an emergency texting service used for inclement weather closings and delays as well as emergency situations.
  • Safety Escorts: If you ever feel unsafe walking alone on campus, our safety escort service is available to accompany you.
