Are you interested in building your leadership & public speaking skills, as well as sharing your ACM experience? 


 

ACM Ambassador Scholarship - Spring 2026
($250 Fall Semester Scholarship)

 

Purpose

To assist in promoting Allegany College of Maryland through special events, speaking opportunities, public relations & recruitment events, and other activities.  The scholarship would help to offset the additional time expended by the ACM Ambassadors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete a minimum of 8 service hours per semester as an Ambassador, while attending ACM.
    • Assist with Student Recruitment, Public Relations & Marketing, and ACM Foundation Efforts & Events
      • This could include in-person or virtual events, digital marketing, and more.

 

Requirements

  • Part-Time or Full-Time student at Allegany College of Maryland
  • Minimum 2.75 grade point average.
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable in social situations interacting with students & parents
  • Experienced with social media applications such as Facebook, Instagram, & X
  • Willingness to interact with the general public in promotion of ACM
  • Willingness to work in teams for event planning & promotion

  • A Video Submission
  • A link to the “Letter of Recommendation Form” to be submitted by an ACM Faculty or Staff Member
  • A List of References

  • Upon successful completion of the 8 required service hours, the recipients will receive a letter of recommendation from the ACM Advancement & Community Relations Office and a portfolio containing all of the things they have participated in to promote ACM.

 

Reminder: Students will have to reapply for the scholarship for the Spring 2026 semester.
