Paying for College...

Paying for college may seem like a daunting task, but there are resources available to help you.

Examine all of your options, apply for financial aid early and be sure to pay your bill on time.



All tuition, fees, and other applicable charges are payable in full to Allegany College of Maryland by the dates listed below in order to avoid late fees. Payments deferred in anticipation of an approved scholarship or other approved third party funding, such as financial aid, will not be subject to late fees.

Due Dates:   

Summer Semester 2017 tuition and fees due by May 26, 2017.

Fall Semester 2017 tuition and fees due by August 9, 2017.

By this date you must have completed one of the following:

  1. Receive an award letter for Financial Aid that covers your total tuition and fees.  If you are receiving aid for the first time, you must also request a final high school transcript be sent to the Admissions Office.  If you are accepting Federal Student Loans, you must return your Loan Acceptance Form (LAF) to the Financial Aid Office.  Processing of these forms by the Financial Aid Office can take up to seven days.

  2. Sign up for the NelNet Automatic Payment Plan through Web Advisor (under Financial Information click on NBS Payment Plan) for your full balance due or your net balance due after Financial Aid.

  3. Pay your bill in full.

Students registering for classes after the due date will need to complete one of the above steps at the time of registration. Registration for courses remains open until the start of classes.

If you are late in applying for financial aid for the Fall 2017 semester or have financial aid pending there is now a PENDING AID PAYMENT PLAN.  Students can sign up for this plan beginning August 1, 2017.


Deregistration: If one of the above is not completed by the due date, you will be deregistered from your classes. If you reregister, you must complete one of the above immediately or you will be deregistered again.

Late Registration: If you register after the due date, you must complete one of the above items immediately in order to remain registered.

Registration after Due Date: The last payment date for the NelNet payment plan is July 5, 2017 for Summer and November 5, 2017 for Fall. If you have not paid your balance in full by this date, you will be assessed a $50 late fee.

Students with Outstanding Balances: Transcripts will not be issued to students with outstanding balances.  Also, your account must be paid in full to register for subsequent semesters.

Students with delinquent accounts will not be allowed to register for classes, receive a transcript, or diploma.  Students with outstanding obligations at the end of the semester will be referred to an outside collection agency. 

Students must officially withdraw from classes if they decide not to attend.  Non-attendance of classes does not constitute an official withdrawal.  If a student withdraws after the refund deadline, they will still be liable for their balance owed.

Please include your student ID number.  Payments are accepted in person at Allegany College of Maryland's main campus.

Allegany College of Maryland also accepts Visa/MasterCard payments through the Web. To make a credit card payment online, click on WebAdvisor. After submitting your payment, VeriSign Payment Services will approve your request and send necessary payment information to the College's billing server. Please allow two (2) business days for the billing server to process your online payment. Our Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays and college closings. An online statement can be viewed by logging in through WebAdvisor. Following completion of your online payment, an email will be sent to the email address entered on the payment form which contains the details of your transaction. Keep this email to document your web payment.
