Q.

What do you enjoy most about your position at ACM?
A. Every day I am able to see students succeed and overcome roadblocks.  I see their resiliency and draw strength from their perseverance.  The success of TRIO is tied to the success of our students.  My "job" is a calling and a blessing!

Q.

What is your vision for the future of ACM?
A. I see a place that welcomes all students despite life circumstances with services and programs that will change their lives and the lives of their children.  While we are already accomplishing this, I see potential and support for even more growth in these areas.

Q.

Who mentored you in your career at ACM?
A. Leah Pepple was my first supervisor and encouraged me by seeing my potential.  DeAnn Greenwalt is my TRIO mentor and forever friend who taught me everything about this grant and the students we serve.  David Jones has been my mentor since my first day at ACM 10 years ago.  He is not just my mentor today, but a role model.

Q.

What advice would you give to a prospective student interested in enrolling at ACM?
A. Utilize the services and get to know the staff and faculty.  ACM employees are #1 and are here to help you.  If you don't know where to begin, they will get you started and support you each step of the way.  If you are a first generation student, come enroll in the Pathways for Success Program!

Q.

Did you take classes at ACM?  If so, how did it prepare you for your career?

A.

I took Early College classes through ACM as a high school student and summer classes at ACM while getting my Bachelors at UPJ.  By doing so, I graduated with a Bachelors in three and a half years instead of four, which saved me thousands of dollars and got me into a Master's program earlier than my peers.  ACM is a great start!
