The Allegany College of Maryland Baseball Program has a proud history and a rich tradition. Head Coach Steve Bazarnic, who just wrapped his 46th season as the ACM skipper, has led the Trojans to 1,436 victories. Coach Bazarnic and the Trojans played their first three spring seasons at nearby Donahue Field before moving to the on-campus field affectionately referred to as "The Rock." The baseball program continued its upward climb; in total, Allegany has been crowned MD JUCO champions 23 times and went to the NJCAA World Series nine times (seven times at the DI level and twice at the DII level). 53 former Trojans have been drafted or signed professional baseball contracts, including six big leaguers. In the past ten years, Allegany Baseball has sent players onto seven different NCAA Division I schools and 16 different NCAA Division II schools, as well as a handful of Division III and NAIA schools. The pride in ACM baseball from former players was evident this past year in the Fall of 2016, as the program hosted the inaugural Allegany Baseball Alumni Weekend; the late-October reunion included a game played between 27 different ACM alumni, a post-game cookout, and a keynote speech from Coach Bazarnic. Current players joined in the festivities helping out as umpires, scorekeepers, announcers, and concession workers. ACM Baseball is working on a second alumni weekend this upcoming fall in conjunction with the Allegany Basketball Program. With the change in colors and the upcoming facilities/equipment upgrades, ACM Baseball will look to proudly continue the tradition that was established over the past half-century.
