Program Goals

  1. Graduates will be competent entry-level radiologic technologists.
       
    1. Program Level Student Learning Outcomes
      • Students will be able to perform routine exams and produce quality radiographs.
      • Students will practice proper radiation safety techniques to protect themselves, their patients and others.
       
  2. Students will practice effective communication skills.

      • Students will demonstrate the knowledge to successfully communicate with other members of the health care team
      • Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing.
      • Students will effectively communicate with patients and properly educate them about the exam being performed.
       
  3. Students will use critical thinking and problem solving skills.

      • Students will identify and perform non-routine exams.
      • Students will identify quality diagnostic images and correct non-quality images accordingly.
       
  4. Students will demonstrate professional and ethical behavior.

      • Students will provide professional care to all patients.
      • Students will identify ethical dilemmas and know how to correctly resolve them.
      • Students will demonstrate the values and ethics of a radiographer.  
       
  5. Students will graduate and be prepared for gainful employment as Radiologic Technologist in the surrounding health care community.

      • 80% of students entering the program will successfully complete it.
      • Graduates will successfully complete the national registry and become registered technologists.
      • Graduates will obtain employment within 6 months of graduation from the program.
