ARTICULATION AGREEMENT

Berlin Brothersvalley High School

And

Allegany College of Maryland

PROGRAM: It is the intent of this agreement to articulate the Agriculture Science program offered by Berlin Brothersvalley High School (BBHS) with the Forest Technology program offered by Allegany College of Maryland (ACM).

ELIGIBLE COLLEGE CREDIT: Students will be eligible to receive two (2) articulated college credits for Forest Technology 101, Introduction to Forestry, (FOR-101) under the conditions specified below. Articulated credit for FOR-101 will apply to either the Forest Technology Associate degree program or the Tree Care Technician certificate program. Students may enroll in either program without duplication of course work.

REQUIREMENTS: The BBHS student must meet the following requirements: A student must complete Agriculture and Natural Resources I and II, Agriscience II, and Soil and Plant Science at BBHS with a "C" average. The student must enroll in the ACM Forest Technology Associate degree program or the Tree Care Technician certificate program. Students will be guaranteed admission in either program. Students wishing to obtain credit for FOR-101 must initiate the process by obtaining an Articulation Credit form from the BBHS Agriculture Science teacher. These forms are provided by ACM and must be completed by the BBHS teacher. The student will bring the signed form to his/her ACM Forest Technology advisor who is responsible for processing the form with the ACM Admissions/Registration office. There will be no examination to receive credit for FOR-101, as verification by the BBHS Agriculture Science teacher is sufficient evidence of mastery of the materials covered in this course.

BENEFITS: Articulated credits are posted on the student's ACM transcript after he/she has completed one (minimum) semester at ACM in the Forestry program. Credits will be posted as "credit by articulation". Students will receive credit, but no grade, for the articulated course. There will be no effect on the student's college GPA. There will be no tuition or other costs associated with obtaining articulated credit.
