GET CREATIVE! Students are encouraged to submit ideas to the ACMinterest Contest. You can submit whatever you like, as long as it demonstrates ACM Pride. Ideas should fit one of the following categories and include a photo:
STUDENT TIPS: This category could include ideas for Time Management, Organization, Study Tips and Program Advice.
STUDENT PROJECTS: Submit your favorite literary work, artwork, community or class project.
FAVORITE PRODUCTS: Things that help you have a successful semester - maybe a favorite energy booster, tech product or gadget.
ACTIVITIES: Stress Relievers, Health & Wellness and Sports.
QUOTE/MOTTO/VISION: Tell us what inspires you, keeps you focused or motivates you.
Allegany College of Maryland Student Interest Contest
Official Rules and Regulations
The ACM Student Interest (ACMinterest) Contest is open to students who are currently enrolled or alumni who have taken a course at Allegany College of Maryland. Only persons residing in the United States, or international students who are attending ACM, who are at least 18 years of age or have parental consent can enter. Entrants must agree to all terms and conditions required by ACM. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial/territorial, and local laws and is void where prohibited.
The following individuals are not eligible: ACM employees and their immediate family members, contractors, ACM Board members or anyone affiliated with the design, development, production or judging of the Contest. Entrants who do not meet the above eligibility requirements will be immediately disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER:
Complete the ACMinterest Entry Form to submit your idea/s and photo in the following categories: Student Tips, Student Projects, Favorite Products, Activities and/or Quote/Motto/Vision.
We are looking for creative ideas from real students. We want to hear about your tips, projects, favorite products, activities and motivations. Once the entry form is completed and the entry is submitted, the entry is final and may not be modified or edited.
The Contest entry period begins April 8, 2013 and ends April 19, 2013. Submissions uploaded after April 19, 2013 will be disqualified.
By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees that the entry complies with all conditions stated in these official rules and regulations. Allegany College of Maryland will bear no legal liability, either expressed or implied, regarding the use of the entry by Allegany College of Maryland and shall be held harmless by the entrant in the event it is subsequently discovered that the entrant has departed from or not fully complied with any of the official rules.
All ideas must be submitted on the .pdf form in English. Ideas must follow the ACM Student Code of Conduct and be appropriate for general public audiences.
You may submit as many as Five (5) ideas during the Contest submission period. Each idea can only be credited to one person; joint entries will not be accepted.
Submissions cannot infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity, moral rights, or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. Photo content must be suitable for public viewing and appropriate for use by ACM. Determinations about the suitability of content based on this section shall be made by ACM, in its sole discretion.
Any submission that does not meet each of these submission requirements may be disqualified.
Approved submissions will be posted to the ACM Facebook page for public viewing and voting. In addition, selected ideas may be featured on other ACM sites.
Public voting (Facebook "likes") will take place on the ACM Facebook Fan Page beginning on April 24, 2013 and ending on April 26, 2013 at 4:00pm.
Public voting is open to anyone, including ACM employees, professors, staff, classmates, friends and family. Entrants may vote for their own submission and invite others to vote for them. Limit one (1) vote per person.
One (1) Grand Prize Winner, One (1) Second Prize Winner and One (1) Third Prize Winner will be chosen from the finalists according to total number of Facebook "likes" on April 26, 2013 at 4:01pm.
On April 26, 2013, winners will be notified by email and/or phone. Any potential grand prize winner who cannot be contacted within ten (10) days of first attempted notification will forfeit his/her prize and an alternate may be selected.
Winners will also be announced on the Allegany College of Maryland Facebook page on April 26, 2013.
GRAND PRIZE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The grand prize winner will receive Amazon and iTunes Gift Cards valued at $75, plus an ACM sweatshirt; second prize will receive a $50 Martins or Giant Eagle Gift Card, plus an ACM Sweatshirt; and third prize will receive an ACM Gift pack including movie tickets and ACM Sweatshirt.
USE OF SUBMISSIONS BY ACM:
Each entrant, by submission of an entry, irrevocably grants ACM and its affiliates, legal representatives, assignees, agents and licensees, the unconditional and perpetual right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, display, adapt, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse (without limitation as to when or to the number of times used), the entrant's submission and each element of the entrant's submission, in each case, as submitted or as edited/modified in any way by ACM, in its sole discretion, as well as to use entrant's name, likeness, photograph (collectively, "Likeness"), and/or statements regarding his/her participation in this Contest (with or without using the entrant's name) for any purpose, without limitation as to time or territory, and without compensation or approval from the entrant or any other party. Entrant waives intellectual property rights, privacy/publicity rights or other legal or moral rights that might preclude ACM's use of the entrant's submission or any element of the entrant's submission, and agrees not to sue or assert any claim against ACM for the use of the idea or any element of the submission, title, description or entrant's Likeness or statements.
DISCLAIMERS AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CONTEST:
Each entrant agrees not to submit any entry that (1) infringes any 3rd party proprietary, intellectual property, industrial property, personal rights or other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligation; or (2) otherwise violates applicable law in any countries in the world. To the maximum extent permitted by law, each entrant indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified ACM, its trustees, agents, directors, officers, employees, representatives and assigns harmless at all times from and against any liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses resulting from any act, default or omission of the participant and/or a breach of any warranty set forth herein. To the maximum extent permitted by law, each participant indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified ACM, its trustees, agents, directors, officers, employees, representatives and assigns harmless at all times from and against any liability, actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses for or in respect of which ACM will or may become liable by reason of or related or incidental to any act, default or omission by a participant under these rules including without limitation resulting from or in relation to any breach, non-observance, act or omission whether negligent or otherwise, pursuant to these official rules by a participant.
To the extent permitted by law, the rights to litigate, to seek injunctive relief or to make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or claims resulting from or in connection with this Contest are hereby excluded, and any entrant expressly waives any and all such rights. Entrants agree that these rules are governed by the laws of the state of Maryland.
ACM is not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission. ACM is not responsible for theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind. ACM is not responsible for inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by ACM on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, disruption or termination of the Facebook website for any reason or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, ACM reserves the right at its sole discretion to immediately cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. ACM reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. ACM further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, and ACM reserves the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent of the law.
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook. Entries, including the entrant's contact information, are provided to ACM and not to Facebook. Please do not contact Facebook about this Contest.
If any provision(s) of these rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
