ACM Offers Weekly Education and Self-Care Groups Through Opioid Project Grant

ALLEGANY COLLEGE OF MARYLAND OFFERS EDUCATION AND SELF-CARE GROUPS THROUGH OPIOID PROJECT GRANT

CUMBERLAND, Md. (Sep. 9, 2019) –Allegany College of Maryland will provide education and self-care groups at its Cumberland campus as part of its Tackling the Opioid Epidemic project. Groups are open to individuals in recovery, and friends and families of those struggling with addiction. Group meetings, offered free of charge to individuals ages 18 and over, utilize an evidence-based Center for Mind-Body Medicine model of group support and self-care skills development. The first group, limited to 10 attendees, will meet weekly from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. from September 24 to November 12 at ACM. Additional groups will be forming. The groups are part of the college's Tackling the Opioid Epidemic project grant funded through the Maryland Opioid Operational Command Center.
