P-TECH PENNSYLVANIA PROGRAM VIRTUAL INFO SESSIONS OFFERED 

EVERETT, Pa. (Apr. 30, 2021) – Allegany College of Maryland will host virtual information sessions at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on May 13 for rising area high school juniors and seniors interested in the college’s P-TECH Pennsylvania program. Preregistration for the info sessions is required and available at allegany.edu/ptechpa.

P-TECH Pennsylvania offers qualified eleventh and twelfth graders the chance to take technology courses at their own pace, or enroll in a two-year, 31-credit certificate in Cybersecurity through the ACM Bedford County Campus. Classes, video conferences and labs are offered online. Funding through a donation by Everett Cash Mutual Insurance Co. (ECM Insurance Group) covers the cost of tuition, registration fees, and textbooks for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

P-TECH Pennsylvania’s Cybersecurity certificate program prepares students for a career in cybersecurity, information assurance or network security and administration. Courses include, among others, Business Administration, Computer Literacy, Digital Forensics, Cyber Law, Operating Systems and Cisco Networking. Upon certificate completion, students will be prepared to sit for their Cisco and CompTIA industry certification exams. Students are encouraged to continue their studies at ACM after graduating from high school. Courses offered through the program can be applied towards an associate of applied science degree in Computer Technology – Area of Concentration in Cybersecurity or a different area of concentration within ACM’s Computer Technology program.
