County Recognizes ACM Anniversary

 

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS RECOGNIZE ALLEGANY COLLEGE OF MARYLAND’S SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY 

CUMBERLAND, Md. (Oct. 22, 2021) – The Board of County Commissioners of Allegany County issued an official proclamation on Oct. 7 in recognition of Allegany College of Maryland’s six decades of “demonstrated excellence in service to the people of Allegany County and the region” since its founding as Allegany Community College in 1961. The proclamation noted in particular that college “alumni are employed through the community in critical roles” that contribute to the community’s success. The proclamation was presented by Commissioner Dave Caporale (far left) and Commissioner/Board President Jake Shade (far right) to David Jones, the college’s vice president of Advancement and Community Relations, Kim Leonard, chair of its Board of Trustees, and Dr. Cynthia Bambara, college president.
