WMHS-TRAINED WELLNESS AMBASSADORS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST COLLEGE COMMUNITY
CUMBERLAND, Md. (Nov. 1, 2019) – Knowing where to turn for help can be a struggle at any life stage. Allegany College of Maryland now offers its students and employees additional support and connections through the Western Maryland Health System’s Wellness Ambassador Program. ACM’s Wellness Ambassadors—Tara DeVore, Joy Friedenbloom, Heather Greise, Debby Hardinger, April Higson, Cheryl Nelson, Beth Nightengale, Alex Rago, Lori Spence, and Cindy Zumbrun—are specially trained to direct individuals to college services or conduct a tailored database search to connect them to additional community resources.
The Wellness Ambassadors assisted 54 students in a three-month span, donating more
than 47 volunteer hours to the program which is coordinated by Mike Browing at WMHS.
