Genealogy Basics (C/S138)

Learn to discover and preserve your family history! This continuing education course provides instruction and interpretation of the genealogy research process. This course explains where to look, who to contact and how to use genealogical research tools on the computer and internet to complete the genealogy search. Topics include the search process, objective strategies, and how to evaluate results. The students will learn how to analyze vital records, census records, military records, and birth certificates; and how to research maps, deeds, and land grants. Come, join us and search your family tree. New and former students welcome. Familiarity with basic computer knowledge would also be helpful.
