Stretching Toward Health & Wellness (CHE222)

Neck and shoulder stiffness, lower back pain, stiff muscles and tight joints are all too common in today's world. In addition, you may have finished therapy after surgery but you still feel stiff, or arthritis is limiting your enjoyment of life. Stretching may be able to help. This course in gentle stretching will focus on increasing flexibility, improve joint function, and help improve ease in movements, and everyday activities.

Simple tasks such as pulling a sweater over your head or bending over to tie your shoes are accomplished much more easily with flexibility. Stretching is gentle, peaceful, and relaxing. Best of all it feels GOOD!!! Anyone, at any age, can stretch. It does not matter where your flexibility level is when you begin, as long as you work at it, you will improve. No equipment is necessary! Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to stretch. Stretching can be done while seated and chairs will be provided. For more information, call 301-784-5526.
