Reinsurance Basics (PRO875)

This class will provide the student with the basics of the reinsurance functions and transactions that all insurance carriers have. To assure financial security in their operations, reinsurance is a major segment of every insurance carrier. In this course, students will learn: The purpose and objectives of the various types of reinsurance agreements; The effect that financial losses have on the reinsurance markets and insurance products; How the reinsurance markets affect the pricing of and availability of coverages; and How catastrophes impact the reinsurance and primary insurance markets. Class approved for Life/Health and Property/Casualty for 4 Hours of CEU in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
