Life and Health Insurance Pre-Licensing (PRO946)

This 60-hour class, (40 classroom via Skype and 20 self-study hours) provides the knowledge to take and pass the Maryland State Insurance Exam to obtain a Life and Health Insurance License. Students will be required to sign an affidavit that they completed the self-study hours before receiving a certificate of completion. This course is offered in partnership with MODASystems/ Carol McClain, a Maryland Insurance Administration approved course provider. The license enables the individual to sell and service all types of Life and Health Insurance. The subjects include: The basics of Life and Health Insurance including types of insurance contracts; Underwriting basics; Insurance contract terminology; Estate Planning; Pre-need Burial Plans; Individual and Group Plans; Retirement Plans; Medicare and Social Security Benefits; Long Term Health Care Insurance Plans; Maryland Insurance Laws; Income Tax Considerations and Implications and more. The cost of the course does not include the book. Students are encouraged to order the book ahead of time. Course materials should be purchased from www.informit.com. Order the "Exam Cram - Life and Health Insurance Exam" study guide that includes the practice quizzes CD to prepare for the 2 hour state licensing exam.
