Nursing Transfer Program
If a student wishes to earn an associate degree from Allegany College of Maryland and then transfer to a four-year college to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing, this program of study will provide an appropriate preparation for such transfer.
Students transferring clinical nursing college credits or general education college credits from another institution to Allegany College of Maryland to enter the ACM nursing program do not come under this category. These students should refer to the Associate Degree Nursing program admission criteria.
Although this transfer pattern is the normal type of preparation for students who plan to enter various bachelor's degree curricula at four-year colleges, it must be noted that different colleges may have different requirements. The student selecting this transfer pattern at Allegany College of Maryland is encouraged to decide as soon as possible which four-year college he/she wishes to attend. As soon as that decision is made, the student should meet with his/her advisor and a staff member in the Student Success Center to alter this program to meet the specific requirements of the particular four-year institution.
Successful completion of this program qualifies a student to apply for an Associate of Science degree in Arts and Sciences. It should be noted that the student following this curriculum would not be taking clinical nursing classes at Allegany College of Maryland and would not be eligible for RN licensure upon completion.
