Sewing for Beginners (C/S169)Have you bought a sewing machine and are not using it because you don't know how to sew? Want to learn how to make a project using a pattern? Just want to learn something about sewing? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this course may be for you. Students will learn to read a pattern, pattern layout, cut a pattern, and sew simple garments. Course topics will cover sewing supplies, fabric selection, basic sewing skills and how to use a pattern to construct a project of student's choice. Students must bring their own supplies to class including a working sewing machine along with the owner's manual. This hands-on sewing class is taught by Mary Ann Shipe, who was a Home Economics teacher for 30 years. Class size is limited to 10 students.
