Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance (C/S210)Get up and get moving. Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is an eight week program offering an enhancement of traditional Tai Chi by transforming the movements into therapeutic training for balance. Tai Chi is recommended by the American Geriatric Society and the British Geriatric Society as a fall prevention program for older adults and has become widely accepted as a balance training program. It has been specifically recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Administration on Aging. This program consists of a core eight-form routine spread over 16 sessions. The exercise protocol involves training and practice of a set of simple, continuous, rhythmic, and functional Tai Chi based movements designed for those who wish to maintain a healthier physical and mental balance. Each routine will be individualized to meet the needs and well-being of the participant. This course is offered as an option of those who may have mobility challenges.
