Office Technologies - Business Office Support Specialist
Whether you're looking to learn entry-level office skills for your first professional position or update your office skills to stay competitive in today’s job market, Allegany College of Maryland's Office Technologies - Business Office Support Certificate program can help. In just one semester, you'll get the training you need to stay on top of current office technologies.
Our Business Office Support certificate is designed to meet your individual training needs for your role as an office assistant. With options for you to take introductory or advanced level skill courses to prepare for today’s workplace, you'll gain the up-to-date technology and communication skills required to become an asset in any office setting.
All courses within this certificate are applicable toward the one-year certificate of Office Systems Support and the two-year Associate of Applied Science degree Office Technologies - Administrative Assistant.
As a Business Office Support program student, you'll be invited to participate in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), the collegiate equivalent of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and its many college-sponsored and community service projects.
As an Office Technologies - Business Office Support program student, you'll expand your knowledge and gain career training through instruction in:
- Proficient keyboarding and computer skills
- Software applications in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Quickbooks
- Integration of software applications
- Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills
- General office skills
- Skilled in document preparation and information management
