CCNA: Networking 1 (CMT159)You will be introduced to the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. The OSI and TCP layered models are used to examine the nature and roles of protocols and services alayers in conjunction with the Cisco Networking Academy. The principles and structure of IPv4 and v6 addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. Introductory router/switch device configuration skills are also included. Prerequisites: A+ certification or equivalent work experience. Please note an orientation meeting is schedule for Saturday, 9/7/13, at Hagerstown Community College. Students must have a personal computer and Internet access (broadband is recommended) to complete online assignments and exams. Allegany College of Maryland offers CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification preparation through a four course series in partnership with Hagerstown Community College. Courses 1 through 4 are offered in a blended learning format to provide flexibility in earning a CCNA certification.
