CCNA: Networking 3 (CMT161)
This course provides a comprehensive, theoretical, and practical approach to learning the technologies and protocols needed to design and implement a converged switched network. You will learn about the hierarchical network design model and how to select devices for each layer. The course explains how to configure a switch for basic functionality and how to implement Virtual LANs, VTP, Inter-VLAN routing, and Spanning Tree Protocol in a converged network. In conjunction with the Cisco Networking Academy, you will also develop the knowledge and skills necessary to implement a WLAN in a small to medium network. Most class lessons, materials, and labs are accessed via the web; however, students and instructor also will interact at scheduled times via online classroom and will require two Saturday meetings. Meeting dates and times will be scheduled by the instructor and enrollees. You must have a personal computer and Internet access (broadband is recommended) to complete online assignments and exams.You must have successfully completed CCNA Networking 1 & 2 before enrolling in this course. Allegany College of Maryland offers CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification preparation through a four course series in partnership with Hagerstown Community College. Courses 1 through 4 are offered in a blended learning format to provide flexibility in earning a CCNA certification.
