The ongoing expansion of legalized gambling has brought gambling to big cities and small towns across the country. Increasingly counselors are finding clients who are seeking treatment for addiction or mental health issues struggling with the co-occurring disorder of pathological gambling. Left undiagnosed problem gambling issues complicate the recovery of up to 30% of substance abuse clients.
