Off the Cuff: Innovative Shoulder Rehabilitation Techniques (CHE 738)
This 2-day course for physical therapists, occupational therapists and their assistants will focus on manual therapy applications for the upper extremity. Included will be a review of shoulder anatomy, kinematics of the shoulder relating to normal and abnormal function, optimizing outcomes and minimizing postoperative complications, developing treatment plans for common shoulder pathologies and home exercise programs integrating traditional and innovative exercises. Also, there will be a review of common and newer shoulder surgical procedures, rehabilitation programs and post-operative protocols. Common and more complex manual therapy techniques will be practiced. Approved by the Maryland PT and OT Boards for 15 contact hours, 1.5 CEU's.
