Write Creatively: Explore the World of Words (C/S053)

In this popular and returning class, students will study styles and genres of writing from poetry to short stories, from humor to history. Students will write their own pieces on topics of their or the instructor's choice, use in-class critiques and re-writing techniques to improve our work, and learn about marketing and publishing the finished product. The instructor, Ellen McDaniel-Weissler, has a rich background in English, American and European history, Opera and has studied medieval history and arts with the Society for Creative Anachronism. No textbook is required, but handouts and a bibliography denoting suggested reading will be provided.
