Critiquing Literature (C/S196)

In this new analytical course instructed by Ellen McDaniel-Weissler, the class will read certain books personally selected for study by the instructor and analyze them, learning to critique themes, language, structure, style, plot, action, vividness, pace -- essentially what makes for good writing. Students will learn to articulate what they feel about books they read, what makes them enjoy or dislike a book, and how to make a valid argument pro or con.
