Les Misérables at the Hippodrome (C/S003)

Join us for this fantastic Broadway series bus trip. On the heels of the hit film sure to break box office records, the Culture Coach will be visiting the famous Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore for VIP seats to “Les Misérables.” The legendary Hippodrome Theatre was designed by noted theatre architect Thomas Lamb for exhibitors Pearce and Scheck and has a history dating back to 1835. By the 1930s it was a noted vaudeville theatre and hosted acts like Jack Benny, Benny Goodman, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and Bob Hope. By itself, the history of the theatre is worth the trip. Now couple that with the legendary heart wrenching musical that is “Les Misérables.” Cameron Mackintosh presents a brand new 25th anniversary production of Boublil & Schönberg’s legendary musical with glorious new staging and dazzlingly reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This new production has been acclaimed by critics, fans and new audiences and is setting new records wherever it goes. The New York Times calls this Les Misérables “an unquestionably spectacular production from start to finish. After the show, audience members will be treated to dinner at the historic and elegant Alewife Restaurant, conveniently located next to the Hippodrome Theatre.
