Impressionism & Post-Impressionism Art History (The Best Loved Period of Art History) (C/S148)

Learn to identify artworks from this 19th century art movement! In this course, students will explore the period in history of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism Art and how it impacted the art world. Various artists will be discussed and their contributions to Impressionist Art (Manet, Pissaro, Degas, Sisley, Monet and Renoir). Students will discuss the Impressionist’s techniques, chosen mediums and subject choice. Other topics include the artists’ use of color, influence on other artists, and interpretation of their subjects.
