Are you a naturally creative person? If you enjoy capturing a moment through photography or documenting a full event in media, Allegany College of Maryland's Communication Arts Technology program can help you harness your creativity and develop your portfolio. Through our program, you'll gain the creative, traditional, digital, and multimedia skills you'll need for job entry or transfer to a four-year college.

Overview

Student using video equipmentOur Communication Arts Technology program teaches you how to transform your ideas into a production sequence. Whether you're directing your own television production or designing a brochure, this type of skill is invaluable.

Our Communication Arts Technology program offers a variety of traditional and on-line courses in Graphics and Digital Photography. As part of your coursework, you'll learn how to produce from start to finish through intensive hands-on projects and lab experiences. Whether you choose to earn an Associate's Degree of Applied Science or a Letter of Recognition in Photography, you'll understand how to create all kinds of media and communications.

Allegany College of Maryland provides practical experience within the Advanced Technology Department which includes:  A color television studio, a multimedia classroom, a darkroom, an audio production area, an independent student laboratory, and a graphics production area.

You'll also expand your education by interacting with program guest speakers, participating in class field trips, and become involved in community projects and internships.
