Auto Care for the Novice (VTE858)

Ready to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence you need to maintain your vehicle instead of paying someone else? Presented by one of Allegany College of Maryland's Automotive Technology instructors, this course covers the most basic information and skills required to become more familiar with your automobile. In addition to classroom lessons, you participate in lab activities that focus on service items that you can actually perform at home. Learn how to be better prepared in emergency situations such as jump starting, running out of fuel, tire changing, and those dreaded warning lights and unusual noises. Basic road hazard and safety items will also be taught. A personal vehicle is not required to be a participant of the course but highly encouraged. For personal protection, participants will need to bring a pair of clear lens safety glasses as well as a set of protective gloves. Participants will need to be in proper dress attire which includes no shorts, no sleeveless shirts, no flip flops and no open-toed shoes.
