Mental Health First Aid (PRO830)

In this course, students will be introduced to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), the role of Mental Health Aider and how it fits within the array of interventions available to address mental health problems. An overview of prevalence and impact of mental health problems in the United States will be discussed. Students will learn how to identify the risk factors and warning signs of major depressive disorder, suicidal behavior, nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI), anxiety disorder, psychotic disorder, substance abuse disorder and eating disorders. The course cost includes $18 for the price of the book. Register early, class limited to 12 students. No CEUs included.
