Instructor’s Core Training (CHE 540)
This course is a prerequisite course to CHE 541 and 543. The core training provides Instructor Candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach American Heart Association approved courses for healthcare professionals and the layperson. Successful candidates can then continue on to their “discipline specific” course(s). The Instructor Candidate completes sessions one and two online. The third session is in the traditional classroom setting.Audience: This course is designed for the individual that has successfully completed BLS for Healthcare Providers or Heartsaver First Aid. Moreover, this course is required for current instructors that wish to add other disciplines to their teaching credentials.
Prerequisites: Interested students must be pre-approved by the TC Coordinator, meet the Instructor Candidate training requirements, and be aligned with an authorized Training Center. Call Jim Nichols at 301-784-5503 for course dates, times, and details.
