The Elderly Population: Substance Abuse & Prevention (HSP 525)
Substance abuse among the elderly population is a largely unexplored phenomenon. Statistics, however, show that the rate of substance abuse among this population is rapidly escalating. This training discusses the rate and prevalence of substance abuse and prescription drug misuse within the elderly population and shares treatment interventions useful for patients in recovery and for elderly patients who may be overwhelmed with complicated and confusing medication regimens.
