Music Appreciation (PPD254)

Take your love of music to the next level! We are pleased to introduce ACM’s very own music teacher, Melody Gaschler. Melody brings a life-long passion for music and many years of teaching experience to this course. She is very excited to introduce you to all forms of music....from Baroque to Romantic, Jazz to Broadway, even Gospel.  This course is intended for those with a vocational or recreational interest in music.  It’s designed to enable students to experience music to its fullest through intensive listening experiences with commentary. Students will learn the general characteristics of melody, harmony, and rhythm. This course is also a foundation course for an understanding of the cultural contribution of music as an art form and will include principal music forms and the historical development of music. A field trip to a live musical performance is also planned. The details of the trip are not available at this time and the cost is not included in the total course cost.
