**The Somerset County Library will be closed on September 3, November 22, 23, & 24; December 24 & 25; December 31 & January 1:
***The Library closes early at 4:00 p.m. on the day before holidays!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

If ACM closes due to bad weather conditions, students are NOT required to return tapes, books or any other ACM materials and will not be charged late fees for those days ACM is closed. HOWEVER, students are required to return ACM library materials the first day ACM re-opens. Fines will be imposed for any days ACM materials could have been returned.


CIRCULATION POLICIES

Allegany College of Maryland faculty, staff, and students, and other adults in the community may borrow the following materials:

Books - U.S. Government Publications - Records and Audio Cassettes - College Catalogs - Pamphlets - Videotapes - Annual Reports - Magazines

The normal borrowing period for most items is two weeks.

Videotapes normally circulate for two days.

Material reserved at the circulation desk by faculty for student use may be classified as closed reserve (library use only), overnight reserve, or two-day reserve.

You are responsible for all library materials checked out with your library card. Please do not lend your library card to others or check out material for other people.

The library card is valid for approximately two years. We will exchange your old card for a new one without fee when it expires.

LOAN PERIODS FOR MOST FREQUENTLY REQUESTED MATERIALS

Telecourse Videotapes - 2 days*
Maximum number of telecourse videos you can borrow at one time - 3.
Number of times you can renew - 2 **
*Only students REGISTERED for a telecourse class may borrow tapes for that class.
**Discretion of staff to reduce renewal limit to accommodate demand.
Regular Books - 2 weeks
Periodicals (Magazines) - 2 weeks
Non-telecourse Videotapes - 2 days
Maximum number of non-telecourse tapes you can borrow at one time - 2

2-day reserve - $1.00 per day
Overnight reserve - $.50 per hour
Non-telecourse Videotapes - $2.00 a day

   Telecourse videos  $12.00
Mutilation     $35.00 mutilation fee +
                    Replacement cost

Grades and transcripts will be withheld until all library obligations are cleared.
