Offered second semester using alternative instructional delivery methods. Three hours lecture and three hours laboratory a week. Fee: $55.00, plus deposit for glassware. A continuation of Chemistry 203, with emphasis in the properties, preparation and reaction of aldenydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, amines, leterocylic compounds, sugars, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Prerequisite: Chemistry 203.
Who should take this course Chemistry 204, Organic Chemistry II, is the first second semester of a two-semester sequence in Organic Chemistry for those who intend to major in the sciences, engineering, or the allied health professions at a senior institution. Chemistry 203 or the first-semester of a two-semester sequence in organic chemistry is a prerequisite for this course.
