Biology 102 - General Biology II - 4 Semester Hours

Offered first and second semesters. Three hours lecture and three hours laboratory a week. Fee: $35.00.

A continuation of Biological Science 101. A study of diversity of living organisms, evolution, and ecology. The laboratory work involves dissection of organisms.

Prerequisite: Biological Science 101.

FAQ

1) Q: Which organisms are dissected?
    A: Earthworms, clams, grasshoppers, crayfish, starfish and frogs.

2) Q: Do we kill any of the organisms we dissect?
    A: No, all specimens come preserved.

3) Q: Are there any field trips?
    A: There is one field trip on campus, an outdoor lab on Vegetation Sampling.

4) Q: Do students have to agree with the concept of Evolution in order to pass this course?
    A: Evolutionary theory makes up about one-third of the course work. While students are not asked to agree         with any philosophical stance, they should be prepared to learn and be tested on the information         provided.
